Akuura Kulak has over 20 years experience designing perfumes with natural ingredients. She began researching essential oils when she found she was highly allergic to most of the ingredients in commercial perfumes. A self-trained "nose", she managed Essence Natural Perfumes, formerly of Newbury St. Boston in 1990-1992. She launched Aroma Sanctum Perfumes in 1996. Formerly operating out of The Fool's Mansion, in Salem Ma., her new retail store is now open at 5 Central Street, Salem Ma. Akuura specializes in creating custom fragrances for individual clients - she is also an artist, photographer and astrological consultant.
